OLD SETTLERS' BAKED BEANS
My husband likes spicy dishes, and this is one of his favorites. He usually takes what's left to work for lunch the next day. We have a 4-year-old son, and this is the only way we can get him to even touch beans!

- Add plenty of flavorings: Baked beans are all about the flavor. Be sure to add plenty of flavorings, such as bacon, onions, garlic, and molasses.
- Cook the beans slowly: Baked beans need to be cooked slowly in order to develop their full flavor. Cook them on low heat for at least 4 hours.
