Categories     Vegetable

Time 10m

Yield 2-3 cups, 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 medium ripe avocados (chilled in fridge for about 2 hours)
1 lime wedge (or 1 TBL lime juice)
1 tablespoon chopped red onion
1 minced jalapeno
1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
1/2 tomatoes, diced
1/4 teaspoon salt (more or less according to taste)

Steps:

  • 1. Mash avocado in a bowl, then add lime juice.
  • 2. Mix in rest of ingredients. Serve w/ tortilla chips or your favorite Mexican dish.
  • Enjoy!
  • This recipe can be doubled for bigger groups.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe avocados: Use ripe avocados that yield to gentle pressure when squeezed. Ripe avocados have a dark green or almost black skin.
  • Use fresh ingredients: Fresh ingredients are key to making the best guacamole. Use fresh lime juice, cilantro, onions, and tomatoes.
  • Don't over-mash the avocados: Guacamole should be chunky, not smooth. Use a fork or potato masher to mash the avocados until they are just combined.
  • Add some heat: If you like spicy guacamole, add a minced jalapeño or serrano pepper to the guacamole.
  • Chill the guacamole before serving: Chilling the guacamole for at least 30 minutes before serving allows the flavors to meld.

Conclusion:

On the Border's guacamole is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a flavorful guacamole that will be a hit at your next party or gathering. So next time you're looking for a tasty and healthy snack, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
