ORANGE DELIGHT JELLO SALAD
While there appears to be a huge variety of Orange Delight salads out there, I have yet to run across one made exactly the way we make it in our home. My mom received the recipe from a co-worker probably 40+ years ago. Even after a heavy meal, this is a really refreshing dessert. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Steps:
- 1. For jello mixture: Bring water to a boil, add Jell-O, stirring until clear. Remove from heat. Add frozen orange juice concentrate and stir until melted. Stir in mandarin oranges and pineapple. Pour into an 11 x 7 dish and refrigerate overnight or until the jello mixture has completely set.
- 2. For Topping: Mix pudding with milk until it starts to set up. Be sure to use only 1 cup of milk, as listed in the ingredients. You don't want to make actual pudding. Fold in Cool Whip and spread over top of jello mixture.
- 3. Optional: Put mandarin orange slices on top for color. Add crushed pecans for added texture, color, etc.

Steps:
- 1. Add 3 cups boiling water to Jello and mix well to dissolve. Add orange juice concentrate. Add drained pineapple and oranges; mix. Put in refrigerator and let set up. Mix pudding mix with Cool Whip. Spread on top of set up Jello. Sprinkle with Cheddar Cheese.
Tips:
- Choose the right oranges: For the best flavor, use fresh, juicy oranges. Navel oranges are a good option, as they are known for their sweetness and lack of seeds.
- Prepare the oranges properly: Before juicing the oranges, wash them thoroughly and remove any seeds. You can also zest the oranges before juicing them to add extra flavor.
- Use a quality gelatin: Gelatin is what gives orange jello its signature jiggly texture. Be sure to use a high-quality gelatin that is free of impurities.
- Dissolve the gelatin properly: Gelatin must be dissolved in hot liquid before it can be added to the orange juice. Be sure to follow the instructions on the gelatin package carefully.
- Chill the jello thoroughly: Orange jello needs to be chilled for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before it is ready to serve. This will give the jello time to set and develop its full flavor.
Conclusion:
Orange jello delight is a classic dessert that is easy to make and always a hit with guests. With its bright citrus flavor and refreshing texture, it is perfect for any occasion. Whether you are hosting a party or simply looking for a sweet treat, orange jello delight is sure to please.
