Tips:

  • Choose the right potatoes: Use firm, starchy potatoes such as Russet or Yukon Gold for the best results. Avoid waxy potatoes like red potatoes, as they will not crisp up properly.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: Cut the potatoes into even-sized wedges so that they cook evenly. If the wedges are too thick, they will take longer to cook and may not crisp up.
  • Toss the potatoes in oil and spices: Before baking, toss the potato wedges in olive oil and your favorite seasonings. This will help them to brown and crisp up in the oven.
  • Use a high oven temperature: Bake the potato wedges at a high temperature, around 450°F (230°C), to get them nice and crispy.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking sheet: Make sure to spread the potato wedges out in a single layer on the baking sheet so that they cook evenly. If you overcrowd the pan, the potatoes will steam instead of roast and become soggy.
  • Flip the potato wedges halfway through cooking: For evenly cooked and crispy potato wedges, flip them halfway through the baking time.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce: Serve the spicy wedge fries with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, or ranch dressing.

Conclusion:

Oven-baked spicy wedge fries are a delicious and easy-to-make side dish or snack. With their crispy exterior, fluffy interior, and spicy kick, they are sure to be a hit with everyone. So next time you are looking for a quick and tasty recipe, give these spicy wedge fries a try. You won't be disappointed!
