OVERNIGHT PEACHES AND CREAM FRENCH TOAST RECIPE

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 loaf French bread, sliced
8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk (you could substitute this for any other milk, it just won't be as creamy)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (15 oz) cans sliced peaches packed in juice, drained
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup heavy cream

Steps:

  • Grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray. Slice bread and lay in a tight, flat layer in dish. In a large bowl, whisk eggs with milk, sugar and vanilla until blended; pour over bread. Arrange peaches on top and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  • Remove baking dish from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350°F. Pour cream into a small pan; bring to a boil over high heat. Cook until reduced by half, about 10 minutes. Drizzle over peaches and bake, uncovered, until casserole is lightly browned on top and just cooked through, 45 to 55 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • Use ripe peaches: This will ensure that your French toast is bursting with flavor. If you don't have ripe peaches, you can speed up the ripening process by placing them in a paper bag with a banana.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing will make your French toast tough. Simply whisk the ingredients together until they are just combined.
  • Use a non-stick skillet: This will prevent your French toast from sticking and burning.
  • Cook the French toast over medium heat: This will help it to cook evenly without burning.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet: If you overcrowd the skillet, the French toast will not cook evenly. Cook the French toast in batches if necessary.
  • Serve the French toast immediately: French toast is best served hot and fresh. You can top it with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

Conclusion:

Overnight Peaches and Cream French Toast is a delicious and easy-to-make breakfast or brunch dish. It is perfect for using up ripe peaches and is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. With its creamy custard filling and crispy exterior, this French toast is sure to become a new favorite.
