CHA-CHA CHILI

Cha-Cha Chili image

This recipe has just evolved over the years. It's more of stew than a chili in my opinion. Everyone always loves it. You can make it as hot or as mild as you family likes. We usually have crackers or cornbread with it.

Delicious white bean chili. Cha Cha says: 'It's kinda spicy, so watch out!' Substitute mild green chiles for the jalapenos if you're scared! Use more chicken and cheese as desired.

  • Mise en Place: Before you start cooking, make sure you have all of your ingredients and equipment ready to go. This will help you stay organized and avoid any scrambling.
  • Brown the Ground Beef and Sausage: Browning the ground beef and sausage gives the chili a richer flavor. Be sure to drain off any excess grease before adding the other ingredients.
  • Use a Variety of Beans: This recipe uses three different types of beans: kidney beans, black beans, and pinto beans. Using a variety of beans gives the chili a more complex flavor and texture.
  • Add Vegetables: Vegetables add flavor, texture, and nutrition to the chili. This recipe uses onions, green peppers, and corn. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots, celery, or zucchini.
  • Season the Chili: Chili is a versatile dish that can be seasoned to your liking. This recipe uses a combination of chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as cayenne pepper, paprika, or chipotle powder.
  • Let the Chili Simmer: Simmering the chili for at least 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld together. The longer you simmer the chili, the better it will taste.
