SIMPLE BARBECUE SAUCE

Smoked paprika is the secret weapon in this simple barbecue sauce, which goes beautifully with pork and chicken. If you're painting the sauce onto cooking meat, thin it out with water to about a one-to-one ratio, which will keep the sugars from burning too quickly over the fire. Serve the full-strength stuff alongside the finished meat.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pecans. For the best flavor, use fresh, shelled pecans. If you can't find fresh pecans, you can use roasted pecans, but be sure to chop them finely so that they don't overpower the other flavors in the sauce.
  • Toast the pecans. Toasting the pecans will bring out their flavor and make them more fragrant. You can toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or you can spread them on a baking sheet and toast them in a preheated 350°F oven for 10-12 minutes.
  • Use a good quality barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce is the base of this sauce, so it's important to use a good quality one. Look for a sauce that is thick and flavorful, with a good balance of sweetness and acidity.
  • Add some spice. If you like your sauce with a little bit of a kick, you can add some cayenne pepper or chili powder. Start with a small amount and add more to taste.
  • Let the sauce simmer. Simmering the sauce will help to meld the flavors and thicken it up. Simmer the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or up to an hour.

Conclusion:

Pecan barbecue sauce is a delicious and versatile sauce that can be used on a variety of dishes. It's perfect for ribs, chicken, pork, and even vegetables. The next time you're looking for a new barbecue sauce to try, give this pecan barbecue sauce a try. You won't be disappointed!
