PEEPS SUNFLOWER CAKE
The inspiration for this cake came from one of my favorite flowers, the sunflower. The yellow peeps make eye-catching flower petals, and I carefully placed chocolate chips in a circular pattern to resemble the seeds in the middle of a sunflower. This cake is easy, but looks quite impressive. -Bethany Eledge, Cleveland, Tennessee

- Mise en place: Before you start baking, make sure you have all the ingredients and equipment you need. This will help you stay organized and avoid scrambling.
- Use fresh ingredients: The fresher your ingredients, the better your cake will taste. If possible, use organic or locally-sourced ingredients.
- Follow the recipe carefully: Don't skip any steps or substitute ingredients unless you know what you're doing. Baking is a science, and even small changes can affect the outcome of your cake.
- Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing can make your cake tough and dense. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
- Bake the cake at the right temperature: The temperature of your oven can affect the texture and flavor of your cake. Make sure to preheat your oven to the correct temperature before you start baking.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help prevent the frosting from melting and sliding off the cake.
