Number Of Ingredients 5

3/4 c real maple syrup
1/4 c soy sauce
4 6-oz salmon fillets, skin removed
1/4 c coarsely ground black pepper
1/2 tsp peanut oil or vegetable oil

Steps:

  • 1. In a zip lock bag or small deep bowl, mix maple syrup and soy sauce. Arrange fillets so that marinade completely covers the fish.

  • 7. Bake until salmon is done or grill directly over hot coals for a few minutes each side.

Tips:

  • To ensure the salmon is cooked evenly, preheat your oven to the correct temperature before placing the salmon in.
  • To get a crispy crust, make sure to pat the salmon dry before coating it in the peppercorn mixture.
  • Use a good quality maple syrup for the glaze. This will give the salmon a rich, sweet flavor.
  • If you don't have a pastry brush, you can use a spoon to spread the glaze on the salmon.
  • Keep an eye on the salmon while it's baking. You don't want it to overcook and become dry.
