PEPPER BREAD

Pepper Bread image

This recipe was passed on to me by my aunt; we used to beg for her to make this as children. The pepper is slight in comparison to the overall taste. The brushed egg yolk mixture gives the bread a crunchier outside and soft inside.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients. This includes fresh peppers, cheese, and eggs. Fresh ingredients will give your bread the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing the batter will make the bread tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a well-seasoned cast iron skillet. A well-seasoned cast iron skillet will help the bread cook evenly and give it a nice crust.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet. If you overcrowd the skillet, the bread will not cook evenly.
  • Cook the bread on medium heat. Medium heat will help the bread cook through without burning.
  • Serve the bread warm. Pepper jack batter bread is best served warm. You can reheat it in a preheated oven or on the stovetop.

Conclusion:

Pepper jack batter bread is a delicious and easy-to-make bread that is perfect for any occasion. It is a great way to use up leftover pepper jack cheese and it is also a great bread to serve at parties or potlucks. Pepper jack batter bread can be served with a variety of toppings, such as butter, honey, or jam. It can also be used to make sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches.
