Time 20m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 tablespoons butter, divided
6 hamburger buns
1/2 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup bell pepper, diced
1 lb hamburger
1 teaspoon pepper
6 slices provolone cheese

Steps:

  • Butter hamburger buns lightly and grill until lightly browned.
  • Take out of pan.
  • Saute onions and bell pepper in what is left of butter after you butter the hamburger buns.
  • Make 6 patties.
  • Grill patties until done.
  • Add sauteed veggies; top with cheese.
  • Cover to let cheese melt.

Tips:

  • To achieve the best flavor, use freshly sliced ribeye steak. It's important to slice the steak against the grain, not with it.
  • Use a good quality hoagie roll or sub bun. It should be sturdy enough to hold all the ingredients without getting soggy.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of cheese. Provolone and American are classic choices, but you could also try Swiss, cheddar, or mozzarella.
  • Make sure to caramelize the onions before adding them to the burger. This will bring out their sweetness and flavor.
  • Cook the burger to your desired doneness. If you like it rare, cook it for about 2 minutes per side. For medium-rare, cook it for 3 minutes per side.
  • Serve the burger immediately with your favorite toppings. Some popular choices include ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, and pickles.

Conclusion:

The Philly Cheese Steak Burger is a delicious and iconic sandwich that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It's perfect for a quick and easy meal, or for a special occasion. With its savory steak, melted cheese, and caramelized onions, the Philly Cheese Steak Burger is sure to be a hit with everyone who tries it.
