Tips:

  • Choose the right bread. A classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich is made with a long, hoagie-style roll. The roll should be soft and chewy, with a slight crust. Avoid using a hard or crusty bread, as it will be difficult to bite through.
  • Use thinly sliced steak. The steak for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich should be thinly sliced, about 1/8-inch thick. This will help it cook quickly and evenly.
  • Cook the steak over high heat. The steak for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich should be cooked over high heat, in a hot pan or on a grill. This will help it cook quickly and evenly, and give it a nice sear.
  • Don't overcook the steak. The steak for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich should be cooked until it is just cooked through. Overcooking the steak will make it tough and chewy.
  • Use cheese that melts well. The cheese for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich should be a cheese that melts well, such as American, provolone, or Cheez Whiz. Avoid using a cheese that does not melt well, such as cheddar or Parmesan.
  • Add your favorite toppings. Classic Philly cheesesteak sandwiches are made with onions and peppers. However, you can add any toppings you like, such as mushrooms, bacon, or jalapeƱos.

Conclusion:

A Philly cheesesteak sandwich is a delicious and iconic sandwich that is easy to make at home. By following these tips, you can make a Philly cheesesteak sandwich that is just as good as the ones you get from your favorite restaurant.
