This recipe calls for 4 pork chops because that's about what you can fit into a standard frying pan, though I've squeezed 6 smaller chops in before. I recommend you double the recipe because my husband eats them two at a time. Serve the smothered pork chops over cooked rice with your favorite vegetable side dish and cornbread.

Tips:
- To ensure that your pork chops are cooked evenly, make sure they are of uniform thickness. If they are not, pound them to an even thickness before cooking.
- If you do not have a meat thermometer, you can check the internal temperature of the pork chops by cutting into one of the chops. The pork chop is done when the juices run clear.
- To make the tangy onion sauce, you can use any type of onion you like. However, yellow onions and white onions are the most common.
- If you want a thicker sauce, you can add a cornstarch slurry to the sauce. To make a cornstarch slurry, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 1 tablespoon of water until smooth. Add the slurry to the sauce and cook until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the pork chops with the tangy onion sauce and your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a green salad.
