Yield 12 people

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 lbs. Frozen, cubed Hash Brown Potatoes
16 oz. ctn. of Sour Cream
1 cup Onion (diced)
10 3/4 oz. can of Cream of Chicken soup
1 stick of Butter
1 cup of Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Salt & Pepper
Potato Chips

Steps:

  • Stir all ingredients (except potato chips) in mixing bowl. Then, spread evenly across a 9x13 baking pan. Bake @375 degrees for 1-hour (Sprinkle crushed Potato chips over the top of the dish after taking it out of the oven.)

Tips:

  • Select the right potatoes: For the best results, use Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, as they hold their shape well and have a creamy texture.
  • Cut the potatoes evenly: This will ensure that they cook evenly. If the potatoes are not cut evenly, some pieces may be overcooked while others are still undercooked.
  • Soak the potatoes in cold water: This will help to remove excess starch and prevent the potatoes from sticking together.
  • Season the potatoes well: Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to flavor the potatoes.
  • Cook the potatoes in hot oil: This will help to create a crispy exterior and a tender interior.
  • Flip the potatoes halfway through cooking: This will ensure that they cook evenly on both sides.
  • Serve the potatoes immediately: Potatoes Deluxe are best served hot and crispy. If you are not serving them immediately, keep them warm in a preheated oven.

Conclusion:

Potatoes Deluxe are a delicious and versatile side dish that can be served with a variety of main courses. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. With a few simple tips, you can make perfect Potatoes Deluxe every time.
