This was fantastic with spaghetti, my family loved it... in fact my husband tried to eat the whole thing. Keep in mind though, we love garlic at our house. If you are not a fan of strong garlic, streamline the amount until you are comfortable with it.

Categories     appetizer

Time 45m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

One 8-inch round loaf country or sourdough bread
1 stick (8 tablespoons) unsalted butter
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 cloves garlic, finely grated
Kosher salt
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup grated Asiago cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  • Gently separate the cubes of bread from the top of the loaf. Spoon some of the garlic butter in the cuts and spread it over the cut surfaces; use all but 2 tablespoons of the garlic butter for this. Slather the remaining garlic butter on top of the loaf. Distribute the Asiago between the cuts and on top. Wrap the loaf in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake the bread until heated through, about 10 minutes. Unwrap the foil and continue baking until slightly crisp on the outside, 5 to 7 minutes more. Serve immediately.

Time 3h40m

Yield Makes two 5-by-9-inch loaves

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 envelope (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast (not rapid-rise)
3 tablespoons sugar, plus a pinch
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, plus more for bowl
1 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon kosher salt
3 large eggs, whisked
4 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pans
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 tablespoon minced chives
1 tablespoon finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Steps:

  • Dough: In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine yeast, 1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees) and pinch of sugar. Let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
  • Attach bowl to mixer fitted with dough-hook attachment. Mix on low speed, adding butter, milk, salt, remaining 3 tablespoons sugar, and eggs. Slowly add flour and mix on low until mixture just comes together. Increase speed to medium-high; beat until dough is soft and elastic, 5 minutes.
  • Lightly brush a large bowl with butter. Place dough in bowl; cover with plastic wrap. Place in a warm, draft-free place and let rise until dough doubles in size, about 2 hours (or refrigerate overnight; bring to room temperature before baking).
  • Filling: Combine butter, garlic, herbs and salt in small bowl. Lightly coat two standard 5-by-9-inch loaf pans with butter. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Roll into a 12-by-16-inch rectangle. Using an offset spatula, spread herb-butter mixture evenly over dough. Using a pizza wheel or a sharp knife, cut dough lengthwise into 3 equal strips. Cut dough crosswise into 4 equal sections. (You will have twelve 4-inch squares.) Fold each square in half, and place 6 in each pan, folded-sides down. (Dough will be soft.) Cover pans with plastic wrap and let rise until dough does not spring back when pressed with a finger, 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake loaves until golden, 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes before turning out of pans; serve. Bread can be stored, wrapped in parchment-lined foil, at room temperature up to 1 day.

2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (about 110 to 115°F)
2 1/2 cups Immaculate Baking Co.™ Organic All-Purpose Flour, plus more as needed
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons minced garlic
Pinch salt
1 cup finely shredded Cheddar Jack cheese, divided
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine sugar and yeast. Pour warm water over sugar mixture and let stand 5 to 10 minutes until yeast is foamy.
  • Meanwhile, in large bowl or bowl of stand mixer with dough hook attachment, mix flour and salt until combined. Pour yeast mixture and oil into center of flour mixture; stir with wooden spoon or on low speed with dough hook just until dough forms. Transfer dough to well-floured surface and knead by hand 10 to 15 minutes, adding more flour 1 tablespoon at a time until dough is smooth, soft, elastic and only slightly sticky; OR, knead dough in stand mixer with dough hook 5 to 7 minutes on medium speed, adding more flour 1 tablespoon at a time until dough is smooth, soft, elastic and only slightly sticky. Transfer dough to lightly greased bowl; cover with plastic wrap and let rise in warm place 1 hour until doubled.
  • Heat oven to 400°F. Spray two 8-inch round cake pans with cooking spray. In small bowl, stir butter, parsley, garlic and pinch salt until well combined. Punch down dough and divide into 2 pieces. Place pieces on lightly floured surface and let rest 5 minutes, covered with clean kitchen towel. On floured surface, roll 1 piece dough into roughly 14x8-inch rectangle. Spread 2 tablespoons butter mixture evenly over dough. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup Cheddar Jack cheese and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, plus a dash of black pepper. Roll up from long end into 14-inch log; pinch seam to seal.
  • With log seam side-down, carefully slice dough almost completely through into 1-inch rolls so rolls are still connected at bottoms. Lift dough and transfer carefully to prepared 8-inch pan. Arrange log into a ring in pan with rolls cut side-up. Repeat with remaining dough so you have 2 rings, 1 in each pan.
  • Spread or dollop remaining butter mixture over tops of rolls in pans. Cover pans and let dough rest 15 to 20 minutes. Bake bread 20 to 25 minutes until deep golden brown.

GARLIC-PARMESAN CHEESE PULL-APART BREAD

Garlic-Parmesan Cheese Pull-Apart Bread image

This pull apart cheese bread is the savory cousin to monkey bread. Frozen dinner rolls, butter, cheese and garlic.....well, that just about sums it all up! I baked it in a standard size loaf pan to resemble a loaf of bread, but you can make this bread into any shape you like. (Read for other options at the very end of the recipe). It's especially good with a warm marinara sauce for dipping, or a cheese fondue, or simply on its own.

Provided by Karen E.

Categories     Breads

Time 3h25m

Yield 64 pieces, 16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

16 frozen white dinner rolls
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon dry parsley flakes
2/3 cup grated parmesan-romano cheese mix, plus
1/4 cup grated parmesan-romano cheese mix (divided)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil or 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Steps:

  • Remove the frozen dinner rolls from the freezer and place onto a plate. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and allow the rolls to sit on the counter for 30-45 minutes or so, until the rolls have thawed enough to cut.
  • Place the rolls onto a cutting board, and using a sharp knife, cut each roll into quarters.
  • Melt one stick of butter in the microwave. Stir the melted butter and seasonings together until blended.
  • Add the quartered rolls to the butter, and toss gently to coat. Bread dough is sticky, so you may need to use your hands to gently pull the pieces apart if necessary. You don't want the dough to form clumps, or it will affect how it bakes. Next, add 2/3 cup of grated Parmesan-Romano cheese, reserving the rest for the top. Toss until each piece is coated.
  • You can bake this bread in any shape you like, but I usually use a loaf pan. Layer the dough quarters evenly in a standard 9x3x2 inch loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray. The dough pieces naturally stick together due to the butter and cheese, but gently pull apart any clumps of dough to be certain the bread bakes evenly. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of cheese on top and a sprinkle of parsley for color. Cover the pan loosely with plastic wrap that has been sprayed with cooking spray. This will keep the bread from sticking to the plastic wrap as it rises.
  • Allow to rise in a draft-free, warm place for 2-2 1/2 hours. Then remove the plastic wrap and place into a 350°F preheated oven.
  • Bake at 350°F for 18 minutes, then check the top. If baking in a loaf, you may need to lay a piece of aluminum foil over the top of the bread to prevent the cheese and butter on top from over browning while the inside of the loaf fully bakes. Continue to bake the bread for another 5-7 minutes, until the center is completely done, approximately 23-25 minutes total, depending on your oven. Test the center of the rolls using a cake tester or toothpick to be certain the bread is cooked all the way through before removing it from the oven. My favorite way to serve this bread? Straight from the pan piping hot!
  • Cook's note:.
  • If you're someone who loves for all of the rolls to have that crispy golden top, bake the bread in a round 9 inch spring form or pie pan. Follow the same preparation method and bake for around 22-24 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Additional baking options:.
  • Bundt pan.
  • Divide the dough between 2 loaf pans.
  • Individual size in standard muffin cups (4 pieces in each).
  • 8x8 baking dish.
  • 9 inch round spring form or pie pan.
  • 8 inch tart pan.

I've seen garlic bread like this in restaurants before and loved it, so I had to make my own. This goes great with any kind of Italian dish, especially ones with lots of sauce so you can use the sticks to scoop some up.

Categories     Lactose Free

Time 15m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 cup olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
dried oregano
1 hoagie roll (6-8 inches long)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Cut the bun in half, then cut each side in half again, crosswise. Lay cut-side-up and score the bread lengthwise two times, forming 3 attached strips. Be sure not to cut all the way to the bottom, but close enough so the bread can easily be pulled apart. (see pictures for visuals).
  • Put the garlic and olive oil in a small dish and heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until fragrant. Use a spoon to evenly distribute the olive oil and garlic over each slice of bread. Sprinkle each piece with dried oregano. Place on a baking sheet and put in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the bread starts to dry. Once most of the bread is dry, turn on the broiler to lightly brown the top. Remove and serve!

THE REALTOR'S SMALL SIZED GARLIC PULL APART BREAD

The Realtor's Small Sized Garlic Pull Apart Bread image

There are alot of recipes out there for this quick and tasty bread but they all make a large bread that's just too much for my small family. I created this yummy version for those of us who need a smaller "loaf". It's the perfect size for 2 adults and 1 or 2 kids. I make mine in a small heart shaped springform pan. My daughter just loves it and my husband wolfs this down fast.

Provided by Realtor by day

Categories     Breads

Time 30m

Yield 1 loaf, 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 (20 ounce) package refrigerated biscuits
3 -4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
3 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven according to the directions on your biscuits. They vary for some reason.
  • Spray a small bundt pan, springform or a regular loaf pan with non-stick spray. If using a springform, cover the outside bottom with foil because the butter will leak out and smoke in the oven (and smoke your WHOLE house up- this happened to me the first time I made it).
  • Melt the butter in the microwave in a bowl large enough to hold the biscuits.
  • Add all of the spices and cheese to the butter and stir.
  • Cut the biscuits up into 4-6 pieces and add to the butter mixture. Stir them up to coat them all real good. I always end up using my hands cause they stick together.
  • Put the biscuit pieces into the pan so they're lumpy, bumpy but spread out evenly and bake for approximately 25 minutes or until nicely browned and done in the middle.
  • Run to the table with everyone chasing you. If you don't run, they'll be gone before you get to the table!

CHEESE & GARLIC CRACK BREAD (PULL APART BREAD) RECIPE

Cheese & Garlic Crack Bread (Pull Apart Bread) Recipe image

Provided by cam_46

Number Of Ingredients 7

Garlic Butter:
1 crusty loaf of Italian, Sourdough, or Vienna Bread
3/4 C shredded mozzarella cheese or any Italian Blend (meltable)
7 T unsalted butter, softened
2 Large Garlic cloves, minced
3/4 t salt
1 T fresh parsley, finely chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F Combine butter, garlic & salt in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave. Stir thru parsley. Cut the bread on a diagonal into 1" diamonds but do not cut all the way thru. Use your fingers or a knife to pry open each crack and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter and stuff in a pinch of cheese. No need to be neat but it's nice to have some of the butter drizzled over the crust. Wrap with foil and bake for 15 min till the cheese has mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 mins more to make the bread nice and crusty. Serve immediately TO MAKE AHEAD: After wrapping with foil, wrap with cling wrap as well. Store in the fridge overnight or freeze to store for longer. To cook, thaw then follow recipe instructions to bake. The denser the bread the better the peices will hold together when pulled off. NOTE: Use already baked bread, not uncooked bread dough.

PULL-APART GARLIC BREAD

Pull-Apart Garlic Bread image

Tender and tasty, this is a delicious finger food recipe to enjoy with a dipping sauce or as a side!

Provided by Francine Lizotte

Categories     Savory Breads

Time 1h3m

Number Of Ingredients 20

GARLIC BUTTER
1/2 c (1 stick) butter, softened
1 Tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 Tbsp chives, finely chopped
1 Tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
2 tsp cloves garlic, pressed
1/2 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
DOUGH
2 1/4 tsp (1/4 oz./7g) dry active yeast
1 c lukewarm whole milk (between 105ºf to 110ºf)
1 Tbsp honey
2 3/4 c unbleached all-purpose flour (3/4 cup reserved on the side), plus more for work surface
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground himalayan sea salt
1/4 c unsalted butter, melted
1 large free-run egg
1/2 c parmesan cheese, grated and divided
1 Tbsp olive oil, or as needed for bowl and hands
3/4 c mozzarella cheese, cut into small pieces or as needed
1 egg wash (free-run egg mixed with 1 tsp. milk)

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients; stir until well blended. Scoop mixture onto the center of some wax paper and gather the sides to compact the butter. Fold one side over and form a log, tightening it up. Roll it up to the other side and twist the ends tight. To prevent from opening, fold ends under. Chill until it hardens, about 2 hours.
  • 2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add yeast, lukewarm milk and honey. Let it sit for 15 minutes or until foamy.
  • 3. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, add 2 cups flour (reserve ¾ cup on the side), garlic powder and salt; whisk until well combined and set aside.
  • 4. Add unsalted butter, egg and ¼ cup Parmesan cheese to yeast. Using a dough hook, mix the ingredients well. Add flour mixture and process on low speed for 3 minutes. Add 1 tbsp. reserved flour at a time to the bowl, mixing well after each addition, until the dough clings around the hook and pulls away from the sides. Increase speed to 4 and knead for 4 minutes.
  • 5. With oily hands, form dough into a ball by pulling under and transfer to a lightly greased bowl with olive oil. Cover loosely with a clean dish towel and let rise in a warm, draft-free spot (in the oven with temperature off) until doubled in size, about 1 ½ hours.
  • 6. When rising time is up, punch dough and transfer to a lightly floured work surface. Sprinkle flour on dough and form a ball by pulling under. Using a bench scrapper, cut dough ball in half (sprinkle more flour if needed) and cut each half in half. Form ball with each piece. Cut each ball in half and each of them in half again, pulling under and forming a ball - in total, 32 balls is needed for this recipe.
  • 7. Preheat oven to 375ºF and place a small ramekin dish upside down in the center of a lightly greased 12"x1" deep dish pizza pan; set aside.
  • 8. Working with one ball at a time, flatten it out to about 2 ½-inches around and place a piece of mozzarella in the center followed with a small piece of hard garlic butter. Gather the edges together making sure the stuffing mixture is well covered and tightly pinch it closed. Transfer to the prepared pizza pan, leaving a small space in between. Cover and let it proof for 30 minutes.
  • 9. In a small bowl, combine egg and milk; beat well and set aside.
  • 10. Brush egg wash on dough balls after rising time is up. Transfer to preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, melt garlic butter. Remove from the heat and brush on a generous amount of melted butter and evenly sprinkle on the remaining ¼ cup of Parmesan cheese. Return to oven and bake for 3 minutes or until cheese is somewhat melted.

  • Be generous with the garlic butter. This is what gives the bread its delicious flavor.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different herbs and spices. Italian seasoning, oregano, or thyme are all great additions to garlic bread.
  • If you want a cheesy garlic bread, add a layer of shredded cheese to the bread before baking.
