CROCK POT SWEET & SOUR MEATBALLS

Crock Pot Sweet & Sour Meatballs image

Time 5h30m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (10 ounce) jar of your favorite sweet & sour sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 medium bell peppers - red, green or yellow (or mini peppers), your choice!
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits, drained
2 lbs frozen meatballs

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients except meatballs into crock pot. Stir well. Add meatballs and stir to coat. Place lid on crock pot and cook on low for 5 - 6 hours. Serve over rice.

Tips:

  • Choose the right size of meatballs: For best results, use meatballs that are about 1 inch in diameter. Smaller meatballs will cook more quickly, while larger meatballs may not cook evenly.
  • Brown the meatballs before cooking: Browning the meatballs before adding them to the slow cooker will help to give them a more flavorful crust.
  • Use a good quality sweet and sour sauce: The sauce is the star of this dish, so be sure to use a brand that you enjoy. You can also make your own sweet and sour sauce using a variety of recipes available online.
  • Add pineapple and green bell peppers: These two ingredients add a pop of sweetness and crunch to the dish. You can also add other vegetables, such as carrots or onions, if you like.
  • Cook the meatballs on low for 6-8 hours: This will allow the meatballs to cook through evenly and absorb the flavors of the sauce.

Conclusion:

These sweet and sour meatballs are a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a weeknight meal. The meatballs are tender and flavorful, and the sauce is tangy and sweet. Serve the meatballs over rice or noodles, or with a side of vegetables. This dish is sure to be a hit with the whole family!
