QUICK AND EASY BEER BREAD
This recipe was given to me by an Irish friend whom I met when we were living in Germany (the Irish and German factor explains the 'beer' ingredient). Very quick and easy to make - just mix the ingredients and put straight in the oven. My friend noted that dark beer works best. I like to sprinkle white and black sesame seeds on the bread, as it gives it that extra taste.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 400. Coat an 8" loaf pan with cooking spray.
- 2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Make a well in the center. Pour in the beer and olive oil. Mix until just blended. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes.
Tips:
- Use a good quality beer. The flavor of the beer will come through in the bread, so choose one that you enjoy drinking.
- Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing will develop the gluten in the flour, resulting in a tough bread.
- Let the batter rest for at least 5 minutes before baking. This will help the gluten to relax and will result in a lighter, more tender bread.
- Bake the bread in a preheated oven. This will help the bread to rise evenly.
- Don't overbake the bread. Overbaking will dry out the bread and make it tough.
- Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. This will help to prevent the bread from crumbling.
Conclusion:
Beer bread is a quick and easy bread to make, and it's perfect for any occasion. It's also a great way to use up leftover beer. With so many different variations to choose from, there's sure to be a beer bread recipe that everyone will enjoy.
