Tips:
- Utilize salty ingredients. Between the olives, the capers, and the sprinkling of red pepper flakes, this recipe is packed with salty flavors. If you're using canned tomatoes, make sure they're unsalted. Otherwise, the dish might turn out too salty.
- Add some heat. If you like your pasta spicy, feel free to add more red pepper flakes or a pinch of crushed red pepper. You could also add a chopped jalapeño or serrano pepper to the sauce.
- Don't overcook the chicken. Chicken breasts can easily become dry and tough if they're overcooked. Cook them until they're just cooked through, or about 5-7 minutes per side.
- Use a good quality pasta. The type of pasta you use can make a big difference in the final dish. Choose a pasta that's made with high-quality ingredients and that has a good texture, such as penne, spaghetti, or fusilli.
- Garnish with fresh herbs. Before serving, garnish the dish with fresh parsley, basil, or oregano. This will add a pop of color and freshness.
Conclusion:
Chicken puttanesca is a quick and easy pasta dish that's packed with flavor. It's made with a simple sauce of tomatoes, olives, capers, anchovies, and red pepper flakes. The chicken is cooked until tender and then added to the sauce. The dish is finished with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. Chicken puttanesca is a versatile dish that can be customized to your liking. Feel free to add more vegetables, such as zucchini, mushrooms, or bell peppers. You can also use different types of pasta, such as penne, spaghetti, or fusilli. And if you don't like anchovies, you can leave them out. No matter how you make it, chicken puttanesca is sure to be a hit. It's a delicious and satisfying meal that's perfect for a weeknight dinner.
