Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pkg taco seasoning mix (i use ortega)
8 oz sour cream
8 oz cream cheese
shredded lettute
cheddar cheese
diced tomatoes
black olives - sliced
taco sauce
tortilla chips

Steps:

  • 1. Mix sour cream, cream cheese, and taco seasoning together. Spread in a serving dish. Add cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, black olives and then more cheese.
  • 2. Serve with chips for dipping and taco sauce on the side.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of cheeses to create a more complex flavor. A blend of cheddar, Monterey Jack, and cream cheese is a classic combination, but you can also experiment with other cheeses, such as feta, pepper Jack, or queso fresco.
  • Add some spice to your taco dip with chili powder, cumin, or cayenne pepper. You can also add a dollop of salsa or pico de gallo for extra flavor.
  • For a more authentic flavor, use freshly ground beef. You can also use ground turkey or chicken, if you prefer.
  • Don't overcook the beef. It should be cooked through, but still juicy.
  • Make sure to drain the beef well before adding it to the dip. This will help to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
  • Serve the taco dip immediately, while it's still warm and bubbly. You can also store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze it for up to 3 months.

Conclusion:

Taco dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that's perfect for any occasion. With endless variations, you can easily customize it to suit your own taste. So next time you're looking for a party-pleasing snack, give taco dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
