Tips:

  • Choose the right apples. Firm, tart apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp hold their shape well when roasted and pair nicely with the sweet potatoes.
  • Cut the apples and sweet potatoes evenly. This will help them roast evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan. If you do, the apples and sweet potatoes will steam instead of roast.
  • Roast the apples and sweet potatoes until they are tender. A fork should easily pierce them.
  • Make the honey bourbon glaze while the apples and sweet potatoes are roasting. This will give the glaze time to thicken.
  • Toss the apples and sweet potatoes in the glaze while they are still hot. This will help the glaze stick.
  • Serve the apples and sweet potatoes immediately. They are best when they are hot and fresh out of the oven.

Conclusion:

This recipe for Roasted Apples and Sweet Potatoes in Honey Bourbon Glaze is a delicious and easy side dish that is perfect for fall. The apples and sweet potatoes are roasted until tender and then tossed in a sweet and savory glaze made with honey, bourbon, and spices. This dish is sure to be a hit at your next gathering.
