SIMPLE ROMAINE SALAD

Simple Romaine Salad image

This is a take on a very simple and delicious salad I had at a Greek restaurant in NYC. It's so easy and the end result is super satisfying. Of course you can add your favorite herbs and toppings. But we find the lightly dressed salad is amazing and a great accompaniment to meat. Sprinkle with the salt right before serving; that pop of flavor and crunch is so good. Finishing salt is a must for this salad.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, seasonal ingredients: When tomatoes, cucumbers, and basil are at their peak, this salad will be at its best.
  • Choose a good quality olive oil: The olive oil is one of the main ingredients in this salad, so it's important to use a good quality one.
  • Don't overdress the salad: A little bit of olive oil and vinegar goes a long way. You don't want to drown the salad in dressing.
  • Serve the salad immediately: This salad is best eaten fresh. If you make it ahead of time, the tomatoes and cucumbers will start to lose their crunch.

Conclusion:

Roman Summer Salad is a refreshing, flavorful salad that is perfect for a summer meal. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. Whether you like your salad with more or less dressing, or with different herbs, this salad is a great way to enjoy the bounty of summer produce.
