Tips:

  • Choose the Right Beef: Opt for a blend of ground chuck and ground sirloin for a juicy and flavorful meatloaf.
  • Use Fresh Herbs and Spices: Fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, and oregano add a burst of flavor to the meatloaf. Don't forget to add some garlic and cumin for extra depth of flavor.
  • Don't Overmix the Meat: Overmixing can result in a tough meatloaf. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Shape the Meatloaf Properly: Form the meatloaf into a loaf shape and place it in a baking pan. Use your hands to gently shape the meatloaf, avoiding pressing it too firmly.
  • Use a Thermometer: Ensure the meatloaf is cooked thoroughly by inserting a meat thermometer into the center. It should read 160°F (71°C).
  • Let the Meatloaf Rest: Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps redistribute the juices, resulting in a more tender and flavorful meatloaf.
