Tips for Making Sausage and Cheddar Cheese Drop Biscuits

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better the biscuits will be. Look for fresh sausage, sharp cheddar cheese, and buttermilk.
  • Don't overmix the dough: Overmixing will make the biscuits tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Let the dough rest: Letting the dough rest for a few minutes before baking will help the biscuits rise and become fluffy.
  • Bake the biscuits in a hot oven: The biscuits should be baked in a preheated 425 degree F oven. This will help them rise quickly and evenly.
  • Don't overbake the biscuits: The biscuits are done when they are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
