1 cup macaroni
1 lb pork sausage
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of celery soup
2/3 cup milk
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Grease a 2 quart casserole.

  • In a large bowl, combine the macaroni, sausage, onion, soup, milk and cheese.
  • Combine mixture well.

  • Bake for 40-45 minutes.

Tips:

  • Choose the right sausage: Italian sausage is a classic choice, but you can also use other types of sausage, such as bratwurst or kielbasa. Just make sure that the sausage is fully cooked before adding it to the macaroni mixture.
  • Use a good quality cheese: The type of cheese you use will greatly affect the flavor of the macaroni bake. A sharp cheddar is a good all-around choice, but you can also use a combination of cheeses, such as mozzarella, Parmesan, and Gruyère.
  • Don't overcook the macaroni: The macaroni should be cooked al-dente, or slightly firm to the bite. If you overcook it, it will become mushy and the casserole will be less enjoyable.
  • Add some vegetables: Vegetables can help to add flavor and texture to the macaroni bake. Some good options include bell peppers, onions, and spinach.
  • Season the casserole well: Don't be afraid to season the casserole well with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices. This will help to enhance the flavor of the dish.
