SHRIMP AND CABBAGE SALAD

Shrimp and Cabbage Salad image

This is yet another version of Ramen Noodle Slaw, but with a little different twist -- lime. Also,no nuts, as my family isn't wild about them in a main dish. The bottled dressings listed are Good Seasons and Kraft brands, because that's available here. This makes a great lunch or light supper when it's too hot to eat (but when is that???). It's easy to put together: use a LARGE Tupperware bowl with a lid, and you don't even need to stir, just turn it over a few times, and chill! (Cooking time is chilling time)

SEAFOOD SALAD III

Low fat and filling. I use imitation crab in this, but it also works well with lobster, real crab and shrimp. For a tangy flavor, add 1 teaspoon mustard.

Tips:

  • Choose the right cabbage. Napa cabbage, also known as Chinese cabbage, is the traditional choice for this salad. It has a mild flavor and tender texture. However, you can also use green cabbage or red cabbage. If using green cabbage, shred it thinly so that it is easier to eat.
  • Use fresh seafood. The fresher the seafood, the better the salad will taste. If you can, buy seafood that was caught the same day.
  • Don't overcook the seafood. Seafood cooks quickly, so be careful not to overcook it. Overcooked seafood will be tough and chewy.
  • Use a light dressing. A light dressing will allow the flavors of the seafood and cabbage to shine through. A simple vinaigrette or a citrus-based dressing is a good choice.
  • Serve the salad immediately. This salad is best served immediately after it is made. The cabbage will start to wilt if it sits for too long.

Conclusion:

Seafood and cabbage salad is a delicious and healthy dish that is perfect for a light lunch or dinner. It is packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and it is also low in calories. If you are looking for a new salad recipe to try, be sure to give this one a try. With its combination of fresh seafood, crispy cabbage, and tangy dressing, it is sure to please everyone at your table.
