Time 15m

Yield 4 sandwiches

Number Of Ingredients 11

12 slices Italian bread or 12 slices white bread, toasted
mayonnaise
salt and pepper
16 ounces imitation crabmeat
3 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained
dill relish (optional)
black olives (optional)
lettuce (optional)
1 tomatoes, sliced (optional)
1 onion, sliced (optional)
4 slices mozzarella cheese (optional) or 4 slices provolone cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • shred up crab into bowl and mix with a couple heaping tablespoons mayo until enough is added to your liking.
  • In another bowl, mix drained tuna with mayo the same way as you did with the crab mixture.
  • To these mixtures you can add seasonings if desired.
  • I put black olives in my crab mix and dill relish sometimes in my tuna mix.
  • Take the lightly toasted bread and on first slice scoop some crab mixture onto it to desired thickness.
  • Place another slice of toasted bread on this.
  • Scoop some tuna mixture onto this second slice of toast.
  • Can now place any other options- I like lettuce, tomato and mozzarella cheese.
  • Place third slice of toasted bread onto top layer (I sometimes put a little mayo on bread so it sticks together).
  • Can toothpick layers together and cut in half.
  • Enjoy.

CLASSIC CLUB SANDWICH

Time 10m

Yield 4 main-course servings.

Number Of Ingredients 10

12 slices white bread
3/4 cup mayonnaise
8 romaine lettuce leaves
16 slices vine-ripened tomatoes
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
16 slices crispy cooked bacon
16 ounces sliced roasted turkey
16 frill picks, or plastic cocktail swords
Potato chips
Sweet pickles

Steps:

  • Toast the bread in a toaster, or under a broiler on both sides. Cut the lettuce leaves in half crosswise and form into 8 neat stacks.
  • To make a double-decker club: On a clean work surface, arrange 3 bread slices in a row. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise over 1 side of each bread slice. Place a lettuce stack on top of the first bread slice, top with 2 tomato slices, and season with salt and pepper, to taste. Place 2 slices bacon over the tomatoes (broken to fit neatly if necessary) and top with 1/8 of the turkey (without letting any hang over the sides). Season the turkey with salt and pepper, to taste. Repeat with the second bread slice. Carefully place the second layered bread slice on top of the first layered bread, turkey side-up. Cover with the third bread slice, mayonnaise side-down.
  • Pin the sandwich's layers together by piercing them with 4 frill picks or cocktail swords through the top bread slice, in 4 places in a diamond-like pattern, all the way to the bottom bread slice. Repeat entire process with the remaining ingredients to form 3 more sandwiches.
  • Using a serrated knife cut each sandwich, diagonally, into 4 triangular pieces (each piece should be secured in the center with a pick or sword). Serve with potato chips and pickles.

THE BEST SEAFOOD SALAD SANDWICHES

The Best Seafood Salad Sandwiches image

I was experimenting in my kitchen, wanting to come up with something light, taste and refreshing to pack as part of our "tailgating fare" for this year's Jimmy Buffett concert. I am quite proud of the end result, VERY tasty with just the right among of *zing*, but not as to overpower the sandwich. And all 24 sandwiches were gone in under an hour. :) ***NOTE, cooking time include chill time in the fridge***

Time 3h5m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb imitation crabmeat
1 (6 ounce) can baby shrimp, drained
1 cup mayonnaise (more or less, to taste)
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
4 scallions, thinly sliced
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
salt & pepper, to taste
8 buns (the softer the better) or 8 croissants (the softer the better)

Steps:

  • In a medium-large sized bowl, roughly break up the crabmeat into small pieces (but not TOO small -- don't "pulverize" it, LOL).
  • Add shrimp, scallions and celery and toss gently.
  • Add mayo, dill, horseradish, salt and pepper.
  • Mix well, but gently, and chill at least 3-4 hours, or overnight.
  • Serve on soft, flakey rolls/bread/buns/croissants and ENJOY!

  • Top with the other 10 slices, remove the crusts, and cut.

Tips:

  • Select Fresh Seafood: Opt for high-quality, fresh seafood to ensure the best flavor and texture in your sandwiches.
  • Cook Seafood Properly: Whether grilling, frying, or baking, cook the seafood to the recommended internal temperature to maintain its tenderness and juiciness.
  • Choose Quality Bread: Use sturdy and flavorful bread that can hold up to the fillings and sauces without becoming soggy.
  • Layer Ingredients Strategically: Layer the ingredients in a way that allows all the flavors to shine through. Start with a spread or sauce, followed by greens, seafood, and toppings.
  • Don't Overcrowd the Sandwich: Avoid overloading the sandwich with too many ingredients, as this can make it difficult to eat and may overwhelm the taste buds.
  • Toast the Bread: Toasting the bread before assembling the sandwich adds a nice crunch and helps prevent it from becoming soggy.
  • Experiment with Different Sauces and Toppings: Don't be afraid to experiment with different sauces, spreads, and toppings to create unique and flavorful combinations.
