SEVEN LAYER MEXICAN DIP

Seven Layer Mexican Dip image

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 medium ripe avacados
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/2 c diced tomatoes
2 Tbsp minced onion
1/8 tsp salt
dash of black pepper
1 can(s) (10 oz.) bean dip
1 c shredded cheddar cheese
1 c shredded montaray jack cheese
1/4 c sliced black olives
chopped tomatoes to garnish
chopped green onion to garnish

Steps:

  • 1. mash avacados; stir in lemon juice, 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes, minced onion, salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • 2. Spread bean dip in a shallow 9-inch dish. Spread avacado mixture over the bean dip. Sprinkle with Monterey Jack cheese.
  • 3. Repeat layers and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • 4. Spread sour cream over the top and sprinkle with olives, tomatoes and green onions.
  • 5. Chill for several hours and serve with corn chips.

Tips:

  • Use fresh ingredients: The fresher the ingredients, the better the dip will taste. This is especially true for the tomatoes, onions, and cilantro.
  • Don't overcook the beans: The beans should be cooked until they are tender but not mushy. Overcooked beans will make the dip too thick.
  • Use a good quality sour cream: The sour cream is one of the key ingredients in the dip, so it's important to use a good quality brand.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment: There are many different ways to make seven-layer dip. Feel free to experiment with different ingredients and flavors to create your own unique dip.

Conclusion:

Seven-layer dip is a delicious and versatile appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste preferences. So next time you are looking for a quick and easy appetizer, give seven-layer dip a try. You won't be disappointed!
