Categories     Cheese Appetizers

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 6

8 oz cream cheese
1 can(s) 10.5 ounces cream of shrimp soup
1 heaping Tbsp prepared horseradish (or to taste)
2 dash(es) worsteshire sauce
1 can(s) (small) tiny shrimp (optional)
1 pkg baked french bread

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium saucepan on low heat place 1 block cream cheese and 1 can cream of shrimp soup. Stir constantly until cheese melts.
  • 2. Add horseradish, worsteshire sauce and shrimp to mixture and mix well until thoroughly heated.
  • 3. Transfer to fondue pot or chafing dish.
  • 4. Break bread into bite-sized pieces for dipping and serve.

Tips:

  • Select the Right Shrimp: Choose large, fresh, and deveined shrimp for the best texture and flavor.
  • Prepare the Fondue Base: Ensure the fondue base is smooth and creamy. Use a combination of cheeses that melt well together, such as Gruyère, Emmental, and Parmesan.
  • Season Wisely: Don't overpower the delicate flavor of the shrimp with too many seasonings. A simple blend of garlic, paprika, and cayenne pepper is often sufficient.
  • Control the Temperature: Maintain a consistent temperature for the fondue. Keep it at a gentle simmer to prevent the cheese from burning or separating.
  • Use a Variety of Dippers: Offer a selection of dippers to complement the fondue, such as bread cubes, vegetables, and fruits. This adds variety and allows your guests to customize their experience.

Conclusion:

Shrimp fondue is a versatile and delicious dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer or main course. With its creamy cheese base, succulent shrimp, and an array of dippers, it's a perfect choice for any occasion. By following these tips, you can create a shrimp fondue that is both flavorful and memorable. Experiment with different cheese combinations and dippers to find your favorite variations. Whether you're hosting a party or simply looking for a special meal, shrimp fondue is sure to impress your taste buds and leave you craving more!
