Time 35m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
8 ounces shallots, peeled and slivered lengthwise
¼ cup all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon Salt and white or black pepper
4 slices firm-textured white bread
1 pound shelled cooked tiny shrimp, thawed if frozen

Tips:

  • Use fresh shrimp. Fresh shrimp is always best, but if you're using frozen shrimp, be sure to thaw it completely before cooking.
  • Cook the shrimp properly. Shrimp cooks very quickly, so it's important not to overcook it. Cook the shrimp until it is just pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Use a good quality white wine. The wine you use in the sauce will make a big difference in the flavor of the dish. Use a dry white wine that you would enjoy drinking on its own.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different ingredients. You can add other vegetables to the sauce, such as mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions. You can also add different herbs and spices to taste.
  • Serve the shrimp newburg immediately. This dish is best served hot and fresh.

Conclusion:

Shrimp Newburg is a classic dish that is sure to impress your guests. It's easy to make and can be tailored to your own taste. Whether you're serving it as an appetizer or a main course, Shrimp Newburg is sure to be a hit.
