Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 lb green beans, fresh, frenched
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp butter
salt and ground pepper to taste
lemon wedges optional

Steps:

  • 1. Trim ends off the beans, French them with the top of a potato peeler ( special gadget ) Or use French Style frozen green beans.
  • 2. In skillet, heat butter and olive oil, add onion and garlic and sauté until fragrant. Add string beans and sauté stirring until JUST cooked but not soft. Season with salt and pepper
  • 3. Transfer to serving bowl and serve with lemon wedges. So easy, so good.

Tips:

  • Trim the green beans properly: Cut off the stem end and the stringy end of each bean. This will help the beans cook evenly and prevent them from becoming too fibrous.
  • Blanch the green beans before cooking: Blanching is a quick process of boiling the beans in salted water and then immediately transferring them to an ice bath. This helps to preserve their鮮豔的green color and crisp texture.
  • Use fresh, flavorful ingredients: The quality of your ingredients will greatly impact the taste of your dish. Choose fresh, green beans, ripe tomatoes, and aromatic garlic and onions.
  • Don't overcook the green beans: Green beans should be cooked until they are tender but still have a slight crunch. Overcooking will make them mushy and bland.
  • Season the beans generously: Don't be afraid to season your green beans with salt, pepper, and other herbs and spices. This will help to enhance their flavor and make them more enjoyable to eat.
