This recipe is from Spain. Sherry or lemon juice is not always used, but either one adds a nice contrast to the richness of the oil and garlic. You can easily substitute squid or scallops for the shrimp.

Tips:

  • Choose the freshest shrimp possible. Fresh shrimp should have a firm texture and a slightly sweet smell. Avoid shrimp that is slimy or has a strong fishy odor.
  • Clean the shrimp properly. Remove the heads, shells, and tails from the shrimp. Devein the shrimp by making a shallow cut along the back and removing the dark vein.
  • Marinate the shrimp before cooking. Marinating the shrimp in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, herbs, and spices will help to add flavor and moisture to the shrimp.
  • Cook the shrimp over high heat. Sizzling shrimp is best cooked over high heat so that the shrimp cooks quickly and evenly. Do not overcrowd the pan, or the shrimp will steam instead of sear.
  • Serve the shrimp immediately. Sizzling shrimp is best served immediately after cooking, while it is still hot and sizzling.

Conclusion:

Sizzling shrimp is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for a quick and easy meal. With just a few simple ingredients and a few minutes of cooking time, you can have a flavorful and satisfying meal that the whole family will enjoy. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy dinner idea, give sizzling shrimp a try.
