Number Of Ingredients 10

1 liter canola oil
2 3/4 cups cornmeal
3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1 cup milk
4 eggs
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup melted butter
2 pounds (21 to 25 size) shrimp, peeled and deveined

Steps:

  • Use wooden or metal skewers: Wooden skewers need to be soaked in water for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent them from burning. Metal skewers do not need to be soaked.
  • Skewer the shrimp tightly: Thread the shrimp onto the skewers tightly so that they don't fall off during cooking.
  • Cook the shrimp over medium heat: Cooking the shrimp over medium heat will help them cook evenly without overcooking.
  • Baste the shrimp: Basting the shrimp with the marinade or a mixture of melted butter and lemon juice will help keep them moist and flavorful.
