SLICE OF HEAVEN CAKE
I first had this cake at a friend's house about 10 years ago. I begged her for the recipe for two weeks before she finally gave in and honored me with the recipe. It's a little time consuming, but you end up with a very elegant and delicious cake.

SLICE OF HEAVEN APPLE SPICE CAKE
This is a recipe that I clipped from a flyer in the Sunday paper some time ago. Since it's a little different than the other apple spice cakes on Zaar, I thought I'd share it. Because bake times and servings are dependent on the pan size you choose, the times I have given here are approximate.

Steps:
- CAKE:.
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Grease pan (use whatever size pan you choose, just follow the box directions for bake time depending on the pan size used).
- In a large bowl, combine the dry cake mix with the apple pie filling, apple butter and eggs. Stir well. Pour into prepared pan.
- Bake cake for amount of time directed on the cake mix box.
- Remove baked cake from oven and cool in pan on wire rack for 10-15 minutes. Remove cake from pan and place on a serving dish to finish cooling.
- While cake is cooling, prepare the frosting.
- FROSTING:.
- Blend all the frosting ingredients together until smooth. Frost cooled cake. Serve.
Tips:
- Use fresh, ripe dates: This will ensure that your cake has the best flavor and texture.
- Soak the dates in hot water before using them: This will help to soften them and make them easier to blend.
- Use a food processor or blender to blend the dates: This will help to create a smooth and creamy batter.
- Add the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract to the batter and mix until well combined: Make sure that the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan: Bake the cake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting it: This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
- Use your favorite frosting recipe to frost the cake: A cream cheese frosting or a chocolate ganache would be delicious.
Conclusion:
Date cake is a delicious and moist cake that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your liking with different frosting and topping options. So next time you are looking for a special dessert, give date cake a try!
