I have taken this to potlucks in the past and people really love it! My family loves it too. Not the stuff of 5-star restaurants, but for my family this is comfort food! Take care with the type of hot dogs you buy because some of the really inexpensive ones have so much water in them it will make the sauce very thin.

2 15 oz. cans chili without beans
1 can cheddar cheese soup
4 oz. can chopped green chilies
10 hot dog buns
GARNISHES:
chopped onion
crushed fritos

Tips:

  • Choose the right type of hot dogs: Beef hot dogs are the classic choice, but you can also use turkey, chicken, or vegetarian hot dogs. If you're using beef hot dogs, look for ones that are at least 70% meat.
  • Use a variety of toppings: The best chili dogs are loaded with toppings. Some popular options include shredded cheese, diced onions, chopped pickles, and jalapeños. You can also get creative and add your own favorite toppings, such as bacon, sauerkraut, or coleslaw.
  • Cook the chili slowly: The key to a great chili dog is a slow-cooked chili. This will allow the flavors to develop and deepen. You can cook the chili in a slow cooker, on the stovetop, or even in the oven.
  • Serve the chili dogs immediately: Chili dogs are best served hot and fresh. So, don't wait too long to eat them after they're cooked.

Conclusion:

Chili dogs are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. With a few simple ingredients and a little bit of time, you can create a chili dog that will satisfy your cravings.
