CROCK POT SCALLOPED POTATOES (WITH OPTIONAL HAM)

Crock Pot Scalloped Potatoes (With Optional Ham) image

This is a great, easy recipe. I got it from a Relief Society Enrichment Night lesson, and have not found its equal anywhere. I have no idea where the sister who contributed the recipe got it, but it sure is great! If you add the ham, it can even be a main dish for lunch or brunch. And while no one can say it's diet food, it's comforting, filling, and a great time saver for big holiday meals.

  • Score the ham. This will help the ham to cook evenly and absorb the glaze.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in the scalloped potatoes. This will add flavor and color to the dish. Some good options include onions, celery, carrots, and peas.
  • Use a flavorful cheese. The cheese will help to bind the scalloped potatoes together and add a creamy, cheesy flavor. Some good options include cheddar, Parmesan, and Gruyère.
  • Cook the ham and scalloped potatoes on low heat. This will help to prevent the ham from drying out and the scalloped potatoes from becoming overcooked.
