This salsa has a slight twist to it! Why Smoking? Besides the heat from the hot peppers you have a smokey flavor going from the chipotle peppers. Then optional for those that like it real hot use ghost chilies. This makes nice little gifts, just pack a basket with it and some chips, avocados, cheese, beer or margarita mix etc.

I love the roasted flavor that grilling gives food, so I decided to make a salsa from grilled vegetables. I think this recipe would also taste great using plum tomatoes. Tips for Making the Best Spicy Salsa

  • Use the right tomatoes: Roma tomatoes or canned diced tomatoes are the best choices for salsa because they have a low moisture content and a firm texture.
  • Roast your tomatoes: Roasting the tomatoes before making salsa intensifies their flavor and adds a smoky sweetness.
  • Don't overcook your onions: Onions should be cooked until they are translucent but not browned. If they are overcooked, they will have a bitter taste.
  • Use fresh cilantro: Cilantro is a key ingredient in salsa that adds a bright, citrusy flavor. Fresh cilantro is always best, but if you don't have any on hand, you can use dried cilantro.
  • Add some heat: The amount of heat in your salsa is up to you. You can add more or less chili peppers, depending on your preference.
  • Let the flavors meld: Once you have made your salsa, let it sit for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.

Conclusion

Spicy salsa is a delicious and versatile condiment that can be used as a dip, a topping, or a sauce. It is also a great way to add flavor and heat to your favorite dishes. With these tips, you can make the best spicy salsa at home. So next time you're looking for a spicy snack or condiment, give this recipe a try. You won't be disappointed!
