- 2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl stir together ground beef, 2 eggs~lightly beaten,1/2 can of tomato sauce. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, celery mixture, and next ingredients. Shape into a 10- x 5-inch loaf, cut bacon in half, and put on top of loaf. Bake at 350°for 45 minutes.
- 3. Stir together remaining 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and 1 tablespoon ketchup until blended, pour evenly over meatloaf, and bake 15 to 20 more minutes, or until no longer pink in center. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
Tips:
- Choose the right ground meat: A combination of ground beef and ground pork is a classic choice for meatloaf, but you can also use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Use fresh bread crumbs: Fresh bread crumbs will help to keep the meatloaf moist and tender. You can make your own bread crumbs by tearing bread into small pieces and then pulsing them in a food processor until they are fine.
- Don't overmix the meatloaf: Overmixing the meatloaf will make it tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Shape the meatloaf into a loaf: Use your hands to shape the meatloaf into a loaf shape. Make sure the loaf is evenly shaped so that it will cook evenly.
- Bake the meatloaf at a low temperature: Meatloaf should be baked at a low temperature (350°F) for 1 hour per pound. This will help to keep the meatloaf moist and prevent it from drying out.
- Let the meatloaf rest before slicing: Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This will help to keep the meatloaf from falling apart.
Conclusion:
Meatloaf is a classic comfort food that is easy to make and always a hit with the family. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious and flavorful meatloaf that everyone will love. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give meatloaf a try.
