Not sure what the Korean name is, we always called it Sukiyaki, but I don't think that's it. Maybe mom made her own variation of another dish, as I've never had this elsewhere.

Steps:
- To roast your own poblano peppers: place on an aluminum foil-lined sheet pan 4 inches below a broiler. Turn regularly until blistered and blackened all over, 5 to 10 minutes. Add garlic; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add tomato, poblano peppers, and 1/2 cup water. Reduce heat; simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat; add lime juice and season to taste with salt.
- Meat:Meanwhile, prepare steaks: Rub with remaining tablespoon oil and chile powder; season generously with salt. Heat a charcoal or gas grill to medium-high heat. SPICY STEAK ROASTED RED PEPPER WRAP
I recently saw a chef on TV use Senegalese sauces and marinades, and that inspired me for the spicy sauce I used in the wrap. Sweet, spicy and hot all at the same time, but also refreshing because of the lime and avocado!

Steps:
- 1. Slice skirt steak into slivers. Place in bowl along with garlic, salt, pepper, cardamom and olive oil. Set aside to marinate at room temp while making the sauce.
- 2. SPICY SAUCE: Whisk together mayo and hot sauce (I used Frank's Red Hot). Then whisk in olive oil and lime juice. Then whisk in honey, cilantro, green onion, salt and pepper.
- 3. Set sauce in fridge and turn attention back to meat. If you have time, give steak more time to marinate, for a fuller flavor.
- 4. Into a hot frying pan, saute the steak for 2 minutes. Add diced roasted red pepper and sautee for another 4-5 minutes, stirring often.
- 5. Warm tortillas in microwave for 10 seconds.
- 6. Into warm tortilla, layer steak with peppers, red onion, spicy sauce, avocado and lettuce. Optional: I sprinkled the whole thing with some extra lime juice. Wrap, eat and enjoy!
Tips:
- Choose tender cuts of steak: For this recipe, cuts like rib-eye, sirloin, or flank steak work well. They are relatively tender and cook quickly.
- Marinate the steak: Marinating the steak tenderizes it and infuses it with flavor. The marinade in this recipe contains soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger, which create a delicious and aromatic blend.
- Use a cast-iron skillet: A cast-iron skillet is ideal for cooking the steak as it retains heat well and creates a nice sear.
- Cook the steak over high heat: High heat is essential for searing the steak and creating a flavorful crust. Sear the steak for a few minutes per side and then reduce the heat to medium-high to cook it through to your desired doneness.
- Add the sauce at the end: Adding the sauce at the end prevents it from burning and ensures that it coats the steak evenly.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds: Garnish the steak with green onions and sesame seeds for a pop of color and flavor.
Conclusion:
This spicy pepper steak recipe is a delightful fusion of flavors and textures. The tender steak, the vibrant bell peppers, and the savory sauce come together to create a dish that is both satisfying and enjoyable. Whether you are a fan of spicy food or simply looking for a new and exciting way to prepare steak, this recipe is sure to impress. So gather your ingredients, put on your apron, and let's get cooking!
