Provided by Good Food team

Categories     Dinner

Time 45m

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 tbsp olive oil
3 onions , 2½ sliced, ½ grated
1 red pepper , thinly sliced into strips
pinch of chilli flakes
2 garlic cloves , crushed
2 tsp fennel seed , lightly crushed using a pestle and mortar
400g pork mince
1 long baguette , ends cut off and reserved, remaining part cut into 4 and halved across
2 tbsp tomato ketchup

Tips:

  • Choose the right baguette: Use a fresh, crusty baguette for the best results. Avoid using baguettes that are too soft or stale, as they will not hold up well when grilling or toasting.
  • Slice the baguette evenly: Cut the baguette into even slices so that they cook evenly. If the slices are too thick, they will not cook through properly. If they are too thin, they will burn easily.
  • Brush the baguette slices with olive oil: Brushing the baguette slices with olive oil will help them to brown nicely and prevent them from drying out.
  • Season the pork well: Be sure to season the pork with plenty of salt and pepper, as well as other spices of your choice. This will help to give the pork flavor and depth.
  • Cook the pork until it is cooked through: Cook the pork until it is cooked through but still slightly pink in the center. This will help to ensure that the pork is tender and juicy.
  • Assemble the baguette bites: Once the pork is cooked, assemble the baguette bites by topping each baguette slice with a piece of pork, a slice of cheese, and a drizzle of sriracha sauce.
  • Serve the baguette bites immediately: Serve the baguette bites immediately while they are still warm and crispy.

Conclusion:

Spicy pork baguette bites are a quick and easy appetizer or snack that is perfect for any occasion. They are made with just a few simple ingredients and can be prepared in just a few minutes. The combination of the spicy pork, melted cheese, and crispy baguette is sure to please everyone. So next time you are looking for a tasty and satisfying snack, give these spicy pork baguette bites a try!
