Number Of Ingredients 9

2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1 cup low-sodium soy sauce
½ cup white sugar
¼ cup mirin (Japanese sweet wine)
4 teaspoons grated fresh ginger
3 cloves garlic, minced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Combine soy sauce, sugar, mirin, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes together in a saucepan over medium heat until the mixture starts to simmer. Slowly whisk in cornstarch mixture. Tips:

  • Use a large skillet or wok to cook the chicken. This will give the chicken plenty of room to brown and cook evenly.
  • Make sure the chicken is cut into bite-sized pieces. This will help it cook quickly and evenly.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet or wok. If you do, the chicken will not brown properly.
  • Cook the chicken over medium-high heat. This will help it brown quickly and evenly.
  • Stir the chicken frequently to prevent it from burning.
  • Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the skillet or wok and set it aside.
  • Make the teriyaki sauce. This can be done while the chicken is cooking.
  • Add the chicken back to the skillet or wok and toss it with the teriyaki sauce.
  • Serve the chicken immediately with rice, vegetables, or noodles.

Conclusion:

Spicy teriyaki boneless chicken chunks are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for a busy weeknight. The chicken is marinated in a flavorful teriyaki sauce and then cooked until tender and slightly charred. The result is a dish that is both satisfying and healthy. Serve the chicken with rice, vegetables, or noodles for a complete meal.
