Tips:

  • Selecting the Right Steak: Choose a high-quality steak that is at least 1 inch thick. Look for steaks with good marbling, as this will result in a more tender and flavorful steak.
  • Cooking the Steak: For a perfectly cooked steak, use a meat thermometer to ensure that it reaches your desired internal temperature. For medium-rare, cook the steak to an internal temperature of 135°F (57°C).
  • Preparing the Purple Potato Salad: For the best results, use a variety of purple potatoes, as this will add both color and flavor to the salad. Boil the potatoes until they are tender, then toss them with a vinaigrette dressing made with olive oil, vinegar, Dijon mustard, and fresh herbs.
  • Choosing the Right Wine: Pair the steak and purple potato salad with a medium-bodied red wine, such as a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot. The bold flavors of the steak and the tangy dressing of the salad will complement the wine nicely.

This recipe for Steak with Purple Potato Salad is a delicious and elegant meal that is perfect for a special occasion.
