Tips:

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Frozen or canned strawberries can be used in a pinch, but the pie will not be as good.
  • Do not overmix the pie dough. Overmixing will make the dough tough.
  • Be sure to chill the pie dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out. This will help prevent the dough from shrinking in the oven.
  • When making the strawberry filling, be sure to use a large bowl. The filling will expand as the strawberries release their juices.
  • Do not overcook the strawberry filling. Overcooking will make the filling tough.
  • Be sure to let the pie cool completely before serving. This will help the filling to set.
  • Serve the pie with whipped cream or ice cream for a delicious dessert.
