Number Of Ingredients 16

Two 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
1/3 cup milk
1 pound fresh lump or jumbo lump crabmeat
One 8-ounce can whole water chestnuts, drained and chopped
3 tablespoons hot Chinese mustard
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup sweet-and-sour sauce
1 small romaine heart, thinly shredded
1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat. Fresh crab meat has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than frozen crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, frozen crab meat is a good substitute.
  • Don't overmix the dip. Overmixing the dip will make it tough and rubbery. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
  • Chill the dip before serving. Chilling the dip for at least 30 minutes allows the flavors to meld and the dip to firm up.
  • Serve the dip with your favorite crackers, chips, or vegetables.

Conclusion:

This layered crab dip is an easy and delicious appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It's made with just a few simple ingredients and can be prepared in advance. The dip is creamy, cheesy, and packed with crab flavor. It's sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering.
