2 teaspoons canola oil
3 pounds ground turkey
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 cups ketchup
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3 tablespoons spicy brown mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
12 hamburger buns, split
Optional: Coleslaw and dill pickle slices

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Cook turkey in batches until no longer pink, breaking into crumbles, 8-10 minutes per batch. Transfer meat to a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker. In the same skillet, cook the onion and green pepper until tender, 2-3 minutes. Add garlic, Worcestershire and red pepper flakes; cook 1 minute longer. Transfer to slow cooker. , In a bowl, combine ketchup, water, brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper; pour over meat. Cover and cook on low 4-5 hours or until flavors are blended. Serve on buns with toppings as desired.

1 small white onion, chopped
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 orange, juice of (about 1/4 cup)
1/2 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)

Steps:

  • In a large skillet brown ground beef and onion over medium heat.
  • Drain off excess fat.

1 can(s) chicken gumbo soup
3 Tbsp ketchup
1/2 Tbsp mustard
2 1/2 Tbsp light brown sugar
8 hamburger buns

  • 1. Brown beef in skillet, drain.

1 1/2 lbs Lean ground beef
3/4 C. Chopped onion
1 C. Ketchup
1 t. Celery seeds
1 T. White vinegar
2 T. Sugar
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1-1/2 T. Yellow Mustard

  • Brown ground beef and onions. Remove from heat and drain fat from pan. Return to heat and add ketchup, celery seeds, vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduced to medium-low and cook for 15 minutes stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. If frozen, thaw in microwave or overnight in the refrigerator. Reheat over very low heat on the stove or microwave until heated through. Stir the mixture several times while reheating.
