Number Of Ingredients 7

2 apples, cored and chopped
1/2 c apple juice, unsweetened
1 c rolled oats, quick cooking
1 Tbsp honey
1 c low-fat plain or vanilla yogurt
2 Tbsp walnuts or almonds
2 Tbsp raisins or craisins

Steps:

  • 1. Combine apples and juice. Stir in oats and honey. Add yogurt, nuts, raisins; stir to mix well. Put in refrigerator. Can keep for up to 2 days.

Tips:

  • Use rolled oats for a creamier texture. Rolled oats are less processed than steel-cut oats, so they cook more quickly and have a softer texture. If you prefer a chewier texture, you can use steel-cut oats instead.
  • Cook the oatmeal in milk or water, or a combination of both. Using milk will make the oatmeal creamier and richer, while using water will make it lighter and more refreshing. You can also use a combination of milk and water to get the best of both worlds.
  • Add your favorite toppings. Swiss oatmeal is a versatile dish that can be topped with a variety of ingredients. Some popular toppings include fresh berries, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and spices. You can also add a dollop of yogurt or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor.
  • Make it ahead of time. Swiss oatmeal can be made ahead of time and reheated in the microwave or on the stovetop. This makes it a great option for busy mornings or meal prepping.

Conclusion:

Swiss oatmeal is a delicious and nutritious breakfast option that is easy to make and can be customized to your liking. It is a great way to start your day with a warm and satisfying meal. With its creamy texture, nutty flavor, and variety of toppings, Swiss oatmeal is sure to become a favorite breakfast staple.
