Tips:
- When choosing broccoli, look for florets that are deep green and tightly closed. Avoid florets that are yellowing or have brown spots.
- To blanch the broccoli, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp. Immediately remove the broccoli from the boiling water and place it in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- To make the sauce, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl until well combined.
- When cooking the turkey, be sure to season it well with salt and pepper. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika, to taste.
- To assemble the casserole, layer the cooked turkey, broccoli, and sauce in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with the cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
