TACO PASTA CASSEROLE
This is a casserole I came up with when I worked in a group home where I had to cook dinner for 6 grown men. Please note: some of these are estimates as I honestly don't know the exact size on some of these containers for Zaar's computer. Use whatever you can find in your store (12, 8, 16 ounce)

CONTEST-WINNING TACO CASSEROLE
My preschooler doesn't eat ground beef unless it's taco flavored, so I came up with this casserole we all like. To make assembly easy, I prepare the taco meat and freeze several bags at a time. I also cook the noodles over the weekend for a timely supper later in the week. -Kathy Wilson, Romeoville, Illinois

Tips:
- Choose the right pasta: Short pasta shapes like penne, macaroni, or shells work best in this casserole, as they hold the sauce and filling well.
- Cook the pasta al dente: This means cooking the pasta until it is just tender but still has a slight bite to it. This will prevent the pasta from becoming mushy in the casserole.
- Use a flavorful taco seasoning: You can use a store-bought taco seasoning mix or make your own using a blend of chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Don't skimp on the cheese: Cheese is what makes this casserole so rich and gooey. Use a good quality cheddar cheese or a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack.
- Top it off with your favorite toppings: Some popular options include sour cream, chopped tomatoes, diced avocado, and chopped cilantro.
Conclusion:
Taco pasta casserole is a quick and easy weeknight meal that the whole family will love. It's packed with flavor and can be easily customized to your liking. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and satisfying casserole that will be a hit at any potluck or gathering.
