Yield 1-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup diced green chilis
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 lb imitation crabmeat, chopped

Steps:

  • Combine sour cream, green chilies, onion, cilantro, lime juice & salt together.
  • Add crab meat & toss together.

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat. Fresh crab meat has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than canned or frozen crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, use the best quality canned or frozen crab meat you can find.
  • Don't overcook the crab meat. Crab meat is very delicate and can easily be overcooked. Cook it just until it is heated through, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Use a variety of vegetables in your crab salad. Vegetables add flavor, texture, and color to crab salad. Some good vegetables to use include celery, onion, red bell pepper, cucumber, and avocado.
  • Use a light dressing. A light dressing will allow the flavor of the crab meat to shine through. Some good dressings to use include mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, or a vinaigrette.
  • Season the crab salad to taste. Add salt, pepper, lemon juice, and other seasonings to taste. You may also want to add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a little bit of heat.
