Steps:
- Position an oven rack in the top third of the oven and preheat to broil.
- Make the meatballs: Pulse the bell pepper, onion, celery, garlic, rosemary and thyme in a food processor or blender until finely chopped; transfer to a large bowl. Add the turkey, panko, mayonnaise, egg, paprika, cayenne, 2 teaspoons salt and a generous amount of black pepper and mix together using a rubber spatula until just combined.
- Dampen your hands with water and shape the mixture into 26 meatballs, each about 1 1/2 inches in diameter (a 1-ounce ice cream scoop is helpful for portioning); arrange them on a rimmed baking sheet. Broil, rotating the sheet halfway through, until the meatballs are golden brown and firm, 9 to 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, make the cranberry glaze: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the jalapenos. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the cranberries, sugar, orange zest and juice, 1/4 teaspoon salt and a few grinds black pepper and cook, stirring constantly, until the cranberries begin to soften, and the skin starts to crack, about 2 minutes. Mash the cranberries with a potato masher and stir until the liquid from the cranberries begins to simmer and thicken, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Transfer the meatballs to the skillet and toss to coat with the cranberry glaze. Transfer to a platter and serve with toothpicks.

TANGY MEATBALLS
A friend gave me this recipe many years ago. It came from some cooking contest and was printed in a newspaper. The sauce is sweet and tangy and works well with plain rice. The meatballs have a lot of extra ingredients that really aren't necessary so one could use their own meatball recipe for this dish. The foil in the pan is just for easy clean up. A nice salad and some good bread would make this a quick and easy meal. The cook time is figuring that you are simmering the sauce while the meat balls are baking.

Tips:
- Choose the right ground meat: For the best meatballs, use a combination of ground beef and ground pork. This will give you a juicy and flavorful meatball.
- Season the meat thoroughly: Don't be shy with the seasonings! Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano are all essential. You can also add other herbs and spices, such as parsley, basil, or thyme.
- Use fresh breadcrumbs: Fresh breadcrumbs will help to bind the meatballs together and give them a light and fluffy texture. You can make your own breadcrumbs by pulsing bread cubes in a food processor, or you can buy them pre-made at the store.
- Don't overmix the meat: Overmixing the meat will make the meatballs tough. Mix the ingredients just until they are combined.
- Cook the meatballs thoroughly: Cook the meatballs until they are browned on the outside and cooked through on the inside. This will take about 15-20 minutes in a 400°F oven.
- Make the glaze ahead of time: The glaze can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. This will save you time when you're ready to make the meatballs.
- Serve the meatballs hot: The meatballs are best served hot, right out of the oven. You can serve them with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
Conclusion:
These tangy glazed meatballs are the perfect appetizer or main course for any occasion. They're easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. So next time you're looking for a delicious and satisfying dish, give these meatballs a try!
