Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of pork: Pork shoulder (also known as pork butt) is the best cut for pulled pork sandwiches. It's a tough cut of meat, but it becomes incredibly tender when cooked low and slow.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with your rub: There are endless possibilities when it comes to creating a rub for pulled pork. Some popular ingredients include brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and chili powder.
  • Cook the pork until it's fall-apart tender: The ideal internal temperature for pulled pork is 205 degrees Fahrenheit. At this temperature, the collagen in the meat will have broken down, making it melt-in-your-mouth tender.
  • Let the pork rest before shredding it: Once the pork is cooked, let it rest for at least 15 minutes before shredding it. This will allow the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making it more flavorful.
  • Use a good quality bun: The bun is an important part of any pulled pork sandwich. Look for a bun that's sturdy enough to hold up to the weight of the pork, but soft enough to be enjoyable to eat.

Conclusion:

Pulled pork sandwiches are a delicious and versatile dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. With a little planning and effort, you can easily make pulled pork sandwiches at home that are just as good as (if not better than) anything you'd find at a restaurant. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give pulled pork sandwiches a try. You won't be disappointed!
